Tables hire
Trestles, rounds and poseurs, counted from your seating plan. Delivered, set up and collected by suppliers who cover your patch.
Table hire typically costs £8 to £14 per 6ft trestle table and £10 to £16 per 5ft 6in round. A 120-guest seated wedding needs about 15 round tables plus cake, gift and buffet trestles. Most suppliers bundle tables with chair hire and deliver stacked for self-placement.
Tables are simple to price and easy to get wrong in count. The seating plan drives it: rounds for dinners (8 to 10 per 5ft 6in round), trestles for buffets, bars and fete stalls, poseurs for drinks receptions. Then the forgotten ones: cake table, present table, DJ table, signing table, bar back tables. Order 10 percent spare and the day gets easier.
PLANNING RATIOBanquet seating: one 5ft 6in round table per 8 to 10 guests. Casual or fete seating: one 6ft trestle per 12 guests using both sides.

Tables hire: questions organisers ask
How many tables do I need for 120 guests?
Seated dinner on rounds: 12 to 15 tables of 8 to 10. Add roughly 4 to 6 trestles for buffet, cake, gifts and the bar. Casual seating for a fete or street party: about 10 trestles seats a third of guests at once, which is the usual target.
Do hire tables come with tablecloths?
No: linen is a separate category (and usually a separate supplier discipline, because laundering is the real product). Order cloths from the linen line on your kit list, sized to drop at least halfway to the floor.
